Garden Planning Should Be Well Underway by Now!

Yeah, it was a blizzard yesterday and today all the schools are closed, but spring and planting season will arrive soon! I promise!

On wintry days, plan your gardens and summer building and yard projects. Talk to contractors now to get on their lists, because they'll be booking up quickly next month when it's warmer. This year, I'll be putting up gutters and water catchment, grading my driveway, and building a lean-to shed. These have been in the works for a week or two already. Get on it!

The March chapter of The Book will keep you busy for the next several weeks!

The Book!

A Monthly Guide to Growing a Sensational Garden in Northern New Mexico and the Rocky Mountains has been published!

You can order on the website for local pick-up or delivery, or just email me that you want one, and we can arrange to meet up. I sometimes impulsively find a central location (Earthgoods or KTAO) for delivery, so stay tuned on Facebook.

The Book is available locally at Earthgoods, Moxie, Gutiz, Petree's Taos and Los Alamos, and the Dixon Market. Please support these businesses in gratitude. I'm stomping the pavement to get into more locations, but there's a lot to do this time of year, and I'm going as fast as I can!

If you don’t live in Taos and would like a signed copy, order here. I will ship it to you. Media Mail is $5. Priority Mail runs $10-12 depending on location. Let me know your preference.

ORDER HERE FOR TAOS & SIGNED COPIES!

We are doing a book signing and seed swap on February 25 at Earthgoods from 11-1 and again on March 18 probably 11-2. Stay tuned for details!

You can also order The Book directly from the publisher:

ORDER FROM THE PUBLISHER HERE!

These are the three best ways to support me - order from me, buy locally, or order from the publisher. My cut is greatly reduced when you buy from third-party websites or stores I don't deal with directly. Thank you for your business and unending support! (If I could put an emoji in here, it would be a big happy heart!)

Order Your Plants Soon!

Spring Share harvest dreaming! Illustration in The Book by Christie Bundy
I start planting Spring Shares the week of March 5th! Lettuces, green onions, broccoli, cabbage, kale, chard, and oh so many lettuces! The deadline for ordering is March 15, so don't forget! February is a short month and March will whiz in right behind it.

The deadline for Summer Shares is April 15 - tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, eggplant, summer and winter squash, flowers and more flowers, and the beloved basil.

CSA Shares are ready at the right time for planting. Plants are hardened off and ready to go in the ground.

You can get a bundle of Renee's Garden seed packets for spring and summer planting, and also Renee's Garden Scatter Cans in several varieties.

If you need raised beds and outdoor furniture, we've got that, too!

Gift Certificates are welcome any time of year.

Gardening Is Important, But Seed Saving Is Crucial

Plants are responding much faster to climate change than expected

We need native seeds in order to respond to climate change,

Andrea D'Amato's CSA Summer Share of Black Krim tomatoes, lemon cucumbers, Shishito peppers, mini snacking peppers, and Swiss Chard. I couldn't believe she grew those gorgeous tomatoes from my starts! Click the photo to order your summer share.

Spring Plant Sales

The Annual Spring Plant Sale will be Saturday, April 29 at Earthgoods, 11-2. Save the date! And pray for good weather! There will be starts of herbs, flowers, and vegetables, house plants, and trees and shrubs. Stay tuned for more details in this newsletter, my website, or the nannie plants Facebook page.

Auntie Nannie's Seed Exchange

Auntie Nannie's will hopefully have seed exchange stations out soon. They are understaffed, overwhelmed, and Tyler, the ED of Alianza, was in a horrible gas explosion in November. So please bear with them while they sort things out. Thanks!
